The manga drawing is from reference (I don't know if you've noticed, I like to use reference drawings or photo reference) but I never do coloring from reference because it's so flippin' fun to just color however you feel, and see how it turns out. It's like a kid with crayons. So, I used my new paint pens on this, they are water based and go on like marker. In some places I mixed the colors to bring different shades out. Added some pink glitter glue. I add glitter to everything now. Nothing is safe.. The proportions of my character I like. I often draw characters. It's tricky to do proportions for me, I have to redraw different spots until it's right. agh
I'm working on a paint pen painting but I've been procrastinating it a bit. The pens look like they are filled with colored water floating around and I love the pastel colored ones. Longer rant ~ but I like how this turned out. I'm definitely using paint more.. Maybe some layers of acrylic or another medium over to experiment. And I want to draw some peaches 1 color drawing.
